Role Overview
We’re seeking a meticulous Digital Content Editor to manage, curate, and optimize content across our website and social channels. You will work closely with reporters, editors, designers, and SEO specialists to ensure timely, accurate, and engaging coverage that resonates with our audience.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit, fact-check, and proofread news stories, features, and multimedia content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and style consistency.
• Plan and coordinate daily editorial calendar; assign and track tasks for reporters and freelancers.
• Optimize content for search (SEO) and performance analytics; implement best practices for readability, engagement, and shareability.
• Write headlines, decks, and social media copy that capture attention while adhering to editorial standards.
• Collaborate with videographers, photographers, and designers to produce compelling multimedia content.
• Monitor and enforce UPMODisha.com’s editorial policies, ethics, and legal guidelines.
• Stay informed about Odisha’s local issues, culture, and events to surface relevant angles and human-interest stories.
• Generate regular performance reports and present insights to editors and stakeholders.
• Support audience development initiatives, including newsletters, push notifications, and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, Media Studies, or a related field.
• 2+ years of editorial experience, preferably in digital news or regional media.
• Strong command of English and Oriya (or Hindi) with excellent spelling, grammar, and style judgment.
• Proven ability to edit under tight deadlines and manage multiple stories simultaneously.
• Familiarity with online publishing platforms (e.g., CMS systems), basic HTML, and SEO concepts.
• Basic photography/videography sensibility; ability to review multimedia assets.
• Proficient with analytics tools (Google Analytics, Google Search Console) and social media management.
• Ethical, fair-minded, and committed to accuracy and transparency.
• Knowledge of Odisha’s local landscape, governance, culture, and current affairs is a plus.
